Extremely Poor Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am writing this in hopes that other single, mature in age females out there that depend on and trust the work done to their residences by outside contractors that they will not be taken advantage of like I was with Allgood Electric, Heating, and Plumbing. I purchased and installed a new HVAC System from All Good in 2019 which was over $8,500, a substantial investment for a small loft.

Since the installation, I have had over 20+ service calls because the system kept being cut off. The system was not pressure tested for leaks when the new unit was installed. I know this now because since the installation, I was told that I need to refill my Freon charge this will be the third time. Over a course of many months, the drainpipe installed in my system was pointed horizontally to the adjoining wall between my kitchen and my bathroom and not down.

They couldnt solve the water in the pan issue simply because they didnt know that the downpipe was installed incorrectly, and they never checked the entire installation. The actual drainpipe was flowing downwards to the 90 angle and then back upwards before going horizontally across the main down. There was not enough water pressure to force the water down hence it kept draining back into the pan under the unit. Then the experts at Allgood decided to install a small sump pump to force the water from the pan down the drain, the problem was as previously mentioned that the final 90 angle that was supposed to face down into the main drain line was going horizontally across it.

The sub pump was not even placed inside the pan and placed on the wood floor next to the unit. The pump cleared the water from the pan but shot the water directly into the wall between my kitchen and bathroom. So much water accumulated and went into the sub flooring of my loft causing all my hardwood floors to start buckling throughout the entire loft. While I was on a business trip, the sub pump overheated and burned the pipe.

I was lucky enough to come home to some smoke, but no fire. I took numerous photos of the installation which was not done correctly; including using electric wire to hold up the drain line (they never heard of pipe strapping), burned pipe, water damage, and Allgood employees at their work. Finally, I began to get some answers and towards a resolution by calling another HVAC company. They looked at the parts and then noticed that the heat pump only had a single flow valve.

The heat pump should have a bi-flow valve. We mentioned that to Allgood and they sent a technician out and he started arguing and then when told by me to call his boss he learned from his boss that I was correct. Now Allgood would come out and check the pressure of the Freon System. They said they would charge us $800 for that plus the price of the Freon but that they would exchange the Single flow valve to a bi-flow valve for free.

The pressure should have been checked during the initial installation. One of the Allgoods employees (will not name her for privacy reasons) reached out when I raised a stink said that and I quote we have had to let several people go due to their lack in workmanship. So, my question is why are they are not willing to come fix the problem? We even reached out to the GM of Allgood on many occasions and written him emails.

but never got a response. Having owned my own business I know that the company is only as good as its leadership. All Good has not made any gesture to help rectify this financially. I had to move out of my home for 8 months while the repairs were being made during the height of COVID which cost me a lot of money out-of-pocket, water damaged items, many days of missed work waiting on service, not to mention inconveniences that come with being displaced from your home.

Long-term loss includes decreased value on my unit due to extensive water damage (which must be disclosed when you sell) and thousands of dollars out of my savings of being displaced out of my home, and items that were not covered by insurance. Due to this and other incidents on their record, Allgood is no longer allowed to provide services in my condo building.

The homeowners association and management company has filed a lawsuit against them for recovery as well as my home insurance company. You are not ALLGOOD with Allgood Heating, Electric, and Plumbing.

I was told I would receive a tune up not an inspection.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was told I would receive a tune up but only received an inspection for my ac unit. They lied when making the appt.

The actually tune up they said would be $800-$1,500.

They advertise this "tune-up" through Home Depot. Don't do it!

Incompetent. System Breakdowns. Communication. Appalling Customer Care

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I dont enjoy leaving bad reviews for any business as Im usually all about the benefit of the doubt, but in this instance there can be no doubt how absolutely appalling the service we receive from ARS was, and so here we are.

Ill keep it brief, but Id encourage everyone to read before trusting ARS with your most basic task. Their tag line is Making it work.

Making it right. They do neither.

Back in October 2023, I paid for a full diagnostic, Custom Tune-Up, Dual Capacitor Replacement etc., on a 5-year-old system. $1300 well spent, or so I thought. A winter storm hit town on Tuesday Jan 16th, and 3 months after their tune up, our heating went out downstairs.

ARS came Wednesday 17th. I paid $100 and they identified the problem. They agreed to return Friday. The service tech, William, called the office with my wife and I standing with him on speaker so we could hear the conversation.

2 days with no heat but hey, the city is under a winter storm siege and there are plenty of people in our position, some worse (we had heat upstairs still), so no problem, see you then. I called the day before to confirm. They had no appointment scheduled for us. The earliest now would be Monday 22nd.

So now 5 days with no heat. I asked for a manager to call me back. No call came. I called and asked again.

No call came, but apparently they needed a part. When will it be here? The dispatcher wasnt sure. Well have the parts manager call you.

No call came. I called again on Tuesday 23rd, now almost a week later. The dispatcher tells me (miraculously) they have an appointment scheduled for Wednesday 24th- 5pm-9pm that we know nothing about and have not confirmed. They agree to email me details.

No email arrived, not that I expected it to at this point. I ask for manger to call me about it and to discuss why the service breakdown has happened. No call. The dispatchers are the front line, and it really seems like the managers are afraid of talking with customers.

So, I called back, Hi, I said. A manager hasnt called me about the issue or this new appointment. The response. We have no new appointment. Yep.

You read it right.

So there we were, almost a week later, and not even a courtesy call or email back after 6 attempts to get someone on the phone. Wed be shivering and miserable but were smarter than that.

I called another company (Frog/Pioneer) who came over and fixed it within the hour. Here is the serious part: They identified some dangerous, faulty wiring that ARS missed not only in their $1300 diagnostic, but during their recent visit. They guy was so concerned that he went to check the upstairs working unit and after finding the same issue, rewired everything for us.

No mess or fuss and heat working in 60 minutes. It was a hectic week for the HVAC industry in Nashville, but ARS's issue is customer servicethey have none at all. No care. No concern.

Ice may prevent service but never a courtesy phone call. Highly incompetent.

THE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

THE WORSE COMPANY THERE IS. These people installed our system and from the very first day we started having issue.

When you call customer service, they have a smart mouth and rude. How can one pay thousands of dollars just for the system to last for 2 years and every time they come out they want you to pay. CROOKS.

Don't waste your hard earned money on this company. Look elsewhere.

BROKEN unit since day 1

Purchased and installed a brand new unit from this organization less than a year now ( Sept 2023 to be exact) 4 major work orders with the most recent being a non working motor. Calling and trying to get anyone to follow up is a waste of your time.

They lie, set blind appts where techs do not show. It's as though things get worst everytime someone comes out and touches the unit.

Nonresponse Laurel MD Office

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

October 2022, I had a new HVAC system installed. The system failed on June 29, 2023.

I called ARS and a technician went out to check the issue on July 1, 2023. He said a new blower motor was needed and the part had to be ordered. The part came on July 11, 2023 -- 10 days later! I had to repeatedly call and get an update from ARS during that time.

When the technician went to install the part, he then said it was not the blower motor but the control board. So, the control board had to be ordered. It was finally installed on July 15, 2023. I had to put my tenants in a hotel because of the sweltering heat; an elderly person and baby could not stay in those conditions.

The hotel bill cost me $3,061. I offered to put them in the hotel because ARS stated it would be a couple of days for the fix. I had no idea that it would be 2 weeks! I contacted ARS Laurel and spoke to Robin Morris several times.

I was told by her repeatedly between July 2023 and November 2023 that I would receive some compensation.

I have not received anything. I am requesting that the corporate office reimburse me for my expenses and time that I have dealt with this issue.

Thank you.

Ive been requesting headquarters or upper management to get involved and see if they would agree & handle business like the tech and local managers said they would of did & wouldnt changed anything that was done.

This is my final attempt to contact ARS dunces theres been no complaints/disputes inquiries. Customer service says someone, Quality, etc will call and no one has on three separate occasions

Resolved: Contract

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Nov 01, 2023

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with settlement agreement. After contacting, Pissed Consumer they provide me with numbers to the main office and I was able to get a copy of my contract for my insurance company. I had been trying since August 13, 2023.

Original review Nov 01, 2023

I had a new Nest Thermostat and Carrier Heating/Cooling installed in August 2023, and was only provided with a generic invoice with a total but no description of the work performed. I am applying for a rebate that requires an itemized invoice.

I have made numerous attempts over a two months and a half period to request an itemized invoice. I cant imagine how hard it could take someone to email a single piece of paper itemizing the work that was done.

Myrtle Beach ARS “SUCKS”

Called to schedule an appt for HACV tune-up. Call center was nice and said tech would be there between 12-2.

That the tech out call 1/2 to 1 hr before they arrive. I got a text confirmation. 2:15 no tech and no call. I called the call center back and they call Myrtle Beach ARS, then MB ARS called me and said they dont do 2 hour windows.

The tech would be here from 12-4. 4:15 no tech and no call. I called the call center back they call MB ARS. 4:30ish got a call from MB ARS saying tech was finish his last appt and would be on his way.

I told them to forget bit that if they didnt have the courtesy to call me earlier to tell me that he would be late or to reschedule I wouldnt want MB ARS plunging my toilet! The guy, S.Lakewood spooked at me. He insisted that they called, yes but only after I complained! MB RAS doesnt respect the customer, they dont live up to their on-line Customer Promise.

And seriously, who only get 5 star reviews that they have posted on their web page? Find someone else, anyone but MB ARS.

Unit has never worked correctly. Supervisor came here today and now the unit is worse.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

A Supervisor and another gentleman came to my house today. Now the fan to the unit is so loud, I am concerned the unit will stop working.

It wasn't doing this prior to today. The notes were not complimentary. I am chronically ill and alone. The dispatch office gave me an appointment for 3 days from now.

The young lady in Corporate Relations was nice, but very distant.

This is the second unit I have purchased in cash from ARS.

I don't understand why they can't correct their error. The unit is approximately 1 1/2 years old, and this has been a problem since it was installed.

Harassment Stalking

Called them by mistake and since have been bombarded with spam sales calls even after asking to be removed from their list. I would never do business with a company so hard up to obtain customers that they continue to try and shove their services on you after you explain you have no intention of ever using them and in fact because of the calls you will not recommend them to any one either.

I was ripped off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Run dont walk away from this company.

A couple of years ago I was in Home Depot and was offered an HVAC quote. I accepted and began my journey into the seventh circle of being scammed.

The nice sales guy came over and warned me about the dangers of my old system. An hour later we were running my credit and I overpaid for a whole new combo HVAC and furnace. I told myself this was a good investment because a new system would run more efficiently and be more reliable. I even paid for an ionic air cleaner , a humidifier, and a digital thermostat that ran it all.

None of these things work properly.

I was told install would be three days.

In my opinion ARS has the laziest bunch of employees I have ever encountered. A different tech showed up to install each little thing. One guy would leave an exposed wire and ARS would send someone else out the next day. Each tech checked off something they did then passed the rest of the list to the next guy.

We did this for about 2 months. I cannot even begin to explain how much work I lost taking off to meet ARS at my home. Finally my system was installed I was left with exposed wires and a cover that is taped on because a tech broke the clips, and holes in my furnace closet that allowed snakes to get in my home, I also later discovered that the surge protectors I paid for were never installed. The sales guy who sold the system came back and fixed the wires, the surge protectors, and the holes in the closet.

A few weeks later I was able to get new clips but that also took 5 tech visits. At this point its winter and I settle into using my new gas furnace and humidifier.

So I tell myself that was a god awful experience but hey Ive got a fancy new HVAC in my condo. Right? Yep.

No.

My utilities jump up, and my humidifier stops working. I cannot tell you how many calls I made

To get the humidifier fixed. Finally after I threatened legal action they replaced the humidifier. Currently I barely use it because it doesnt work consistently.

Fast forward to now my system is not yet three years old.

When the air cleaner runs, the ac wont blow cold air.

I had a tech out and she couldnt figure out what was wrong. I call ARS and they want $100 to diagnose whats wrong with the system they installed and supposedly warrantied.

Those of you considering hiring them..dont!

IMPORTANT! GET A SECOND OPINION!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a Home Warranty for my AC/Heat. I requested a tech to come by for the annual heater system check.

The tech arrived and promptly told me that the entire furnace systems (2) needed to be replaced. The tech told me that the CO levels were over 10 on one unit and over 12 on the other. In other words the systems were malfunctioning. The tech also told me that the burners were producing an "orange" flame which indicated to him that there was too much oxygen in the systems and that was another reason to replace both furnace systems.

The tech said that he could call the dispatcher and have a crew out "tomorrow" to replace both furnace units. I told him that I would let him know. I called another AC/Heat company and they proved that the ARS tech was wrong. The new tech showed me his meters and that both units produced "0" CO emissions and that the flame was a pretty blue for both units.

No work was performed because no work was required. The ARS tech left me a bill for $8470.25, the cost to replace both furnaces.

The new AC/Heat company didn't charge me at all ($75 was paid to American Home Shield) because no work was needed. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND MAKE THE ARS TECH SHOW YOU WHAT IS CLAIMED TO BE WRONG!
